Welcome!

‘Making A Dramatic Difference’ is a voluntary organisation aimed at using drama, music and dance as artistic media for social development and academic achievement, for underprivileged children.

After our first visit to Kathmandu, Nepal, from July – September 2009, we are curently working towards developing the project, in order to continue providing theatre to himalayan children…

Our names are Georgia Munnion and Lori Hopkins, actor-teachers and founders of ‘Making A Dramatic Difference’, and graduates from the European Theatre Arts course in Rose Bruford College.

We established the project in the Shree Mangal DVIP Boarding School in Kathmandu, Nepal. This school works, primarily, with children from isolated mountain villages, providing them with education, housing and medical and dental care.

We spent seven weeks at the School, devising and carrying out Drama workshops for children ages 3 to 18 years. These introduced the students to a range of theatrical skills and forms, culminating in a final ‘workshop demonstration’ performance. We used these workshops as an educational basis for a process of social development, encouraging cultural awareness and improving the children’s English language.

Please watch this space for updates, as we continue on our journey towards ‘Making A Dramatic Difference’!
