Since our first visit to Kathmandu, Nepal, from July – September 2009, where we launched our first Project, we have been working towards its development, in order to continue providing theatre to Himalayan children…

Our names are Georgia Munnion and Lori Hopkins, actor-teachers and founders of ‘Making A Dramatic Difference’, and graduates from the European Theatre Arts course in Rose Bruford College.

We established our first project in the Shree Mangal DVIP Boarding School in Kathmandu, Nepal. This school works, primarily, with children from isolated mountain villages, providing them with education, housing and medical and dental care.

We spent seven weeks at the School, devising and carrying out Drama workshops for children ages 3 to 18 years. These introduced the students to a range of theatrical skills and forms, culminating in a final ‘workshop demonstration’ performance. We used these workshops as an educational basis for a process of social development, encouraging cultural awareness and improving the children’s English language.
